May, September and October bookend Utah’s summer and bring more comfortable temperatures for sightseeing.

Getting there

  • Planes

    With a handful of scheduled light aircraft flights from Phoenix and Salt Lake City weekly, Canyonlands Field Airport is the nearest runway, just 15 minutes by road from the park. Next closest is Grand Junction, around a 90-minute drive away. For international arrivals, Salt Lake City (less than four hours) or Denver (five and a half hours away) are your closest options.

  • Automobiles

    You’ll want your own set of wheels for shuttling between Moab and Arches National Park. There’s a year-round entrance fee for the park, and between April and October you’ll also need a timed (and charged) entry ticket.
