Visit between September and November for warm temperatures (highs of 31°C) and quiet beaches before the snowbirds flock in through December.
Getting there
Planes
The island doesn’t have its own airport, but you have a few options. Fly to St Thomas and then take a 40-minute ferry to Jost Van Dyke. There’s also a 30-minute direct ferry from Tortola; if flying internationally, you may need to go to San Juan in Puerto Rico before taking another flight to Tortola.
Automobiles
Car rentals are available on the island, but you’re unlikely to need one given Jost Van Dyke’s small size.
