Summer is peak season, but things start to get going from May, though it’s June before they’re in full swing.
Getting there
Planes
The island does have its own airport, but international flights are likely to land in Boston. From here, the drive south is roughly two-and-a-half hours, with a short stint on the ferry from Hyannis port in Cape Cod.
Automobiles
A car is not essential on the island, especially in easily walkable Edgartown.
