Our favourite rooms
All of Grand Joanne’s rooms share the same cosy-but-contemporary feel with earthy colours, statement carpets and soft lighting. For couples looking to maximise on hygge, the spacious Junior Suites have warm wooden accents and exposed brick walls. But if we had to choose one, it’d be room 101, which boasts one of the building’s only original stained-glass windows.
Spa
There’s no spa, but Grand Joanne partners with Aire Ancient Baths in nearby Carlsberg City. Inspired by the baths of ancient civilizations, this former brewery has been transformed into a romantic relaxation spot with vaulted thermal pools and soul-soothing treatment rooms. Though you’ll find signs of its former life in the spa menu, which includes traditional soaks in Danish beer alongside more conventional treatments.
Packing tips
Save space for Nordic homewares and Danish design staples so you can recreate the Grand Joanne feel long after you land.
Pet‐friendly
Well-behaved pets are welcome in certain rooms for DKK500 a stay (plus a DKK1,000 deposit), but booking ahead is essential. See more pet-friendly hotels in Copenhagen.
Children
Welcome. There are several family-friendly rooms where extra beds can be arranged for an additional fee.
Sustainability efforts
Grand Joanne’s sustainability efforts are modest but noble. Energy consumption is closely monitored, food waste is limited, recycling is a daily practice and local suppliers are used whenever possible.
