We’re not in Puglia any more, Toto – instead, Lecce favourite La Fiermontina has found its way to the Moroccan coast, transplanting its glorious Italian glamour along the way. South of Tangier on Morocco’s west coast, La Fiermontina Ocean, is just north of Larache – a holiday hotspot for Moroccans come summer, which, as yet, is relatively untouched by international tourists (crowd-free coastal dunes are a stroll away). It’s set across a new resort and an old village, within a reserve, with more traditional hamlets nearby for a wholesome addition to your surfing and sunlounger snoozing – don’t be surprised if you’re invited in for lunch. Moroccan touches include Berber rugs, Atlas Mountain-sourced textiles and tea ceremonies, but it’s la dolce vita all the way.
