Check–Out
Noon, but flexible, subject to availability. Earliest check-in, 4pm. If you’re checking in after 8pm, let reception know in advance, because it isn’t open round the clock.
More details
Rates include a wholly homemade breakfast.
Also
The hotel offers residencies to artists, creatives, healers, and collaborators who share their practices with guests.
Hotel closed
The hotel shuts its doors for the winter season, from November to March.
At the hotel
Working farm, bikes on demand, free WiFi throughout. In rooms: minibar (stocked with homemade treats and free bottled water), kettle and herbal teas, bathrobes, and Gaia Natural bath products.
Our favourite rooms
Each of Son Blanc Farmhouse Menorca’s 14 rooms are uniquely designed and come with their own terrace, so even though you’re on a farm, there are no short-straws here. Natural textiles – exposed stone, clay and wood – enhance the hotel’s dreamy, soothing atmosphere. Still, it’s the Rural Suites, with outdoor hot tubs, private gardens, and terraces leading out to wilderness that cinch it.
Poolside
The large outdoor saltwater pool, fringed with rocks for a beachside feel, is open from 9am to 8pm. Head to the neighbouring pool bar when you’re feeling peckish.
Spa
There’s no spa, but there are two treatment rooms if you’d like a massage (and plans for open-air massages are in the works too).
Packing tips
Bring multitasking clothing that can work both in active settings and tempered surrounds.
Also
Many of the hotel’s public areas are wheelchair-accessible: the ground floor of the main house, restaurant, yoga studio, and terraces. However the rural nature of the stay may make it tricky to navigate.
Pet‐friendly
Suites are pet-friendly and your furry friends are welcome to come along at no extra cost. See more pet-friendly hotels in Menorca.
Children
Little Smiths are welcome, except in Cuarto Rustico room, just ensure you bring all the kid-friendly kit you’ll need as the hotel doesn’t provide any extras.
Best for
All ages are welcome, though the hotel is not targeted towards children.
Recommended rooms
Those travelling with kids can only book into the hotel’s Rural Suites. Away from the main house, families have additional privacy and other guests are undisturbed. Win, win. These suites are also the most spacious.
Activities
From walking trails to craft workshops, there’s infinite activities to keep little Smiths busy.
Swimming pool
The pool is not protected or guarded, and families are reminded to keep an eye on their children at all times – and also to keep noise levels down.
Meals
Menus lean towards healthy fare that is locally sourced.
Sustainability efforts
The hotel aims to be self-sustainable and minimise their carbon footprint by producing their own energy and reducing consumption (through the use of high-efficiency appliances and thermal ceiling-cooling panels), growing the majority of the produce they use, and harvesting and reusing water. To do this in Earth-kind style they restored two underground cisterns, and built an extra reservoir and treatment plant. Buildings were sustainably constructed and they practise low-intervention, regenerative agriculture. The hotel also uses plant-based bathroom products and operates a no-plastic policy. They are certified by the Plastic Free Menorca organisation and also support the Menorca Preservation Fund; and meals are as local and seasonal as can be, while waste is kept to a minimum in the kitchen and composting is taken seriously (there’s a dedicated machine and everything).
